Support Questions:Why are my conversions different from another network

From HasOffers

There are many tracking factors that can affect click and conversion counts. When you load an offer into your network from another network, both of you have different tracking systems. The main issues to investigate when experiencing click and conversion discrepancies are: cookie lengths, time zones, and duplicate conversions.

Cookie lengths or sometimes referred to as cookie life spans determine how long tracking cookies are valid on users’ computers. Offers that use client based conversion tracking methods such as iFrame Pixels and Image Pixels store information about users clicking on advertisements (tracking links) on the users’ computers. The time for these cookies to be valid is usually based on a setting in the tracking platform. In the HasOffers application, cookie lengths are under Tracking settings. If the advertiser has their tracking software set to really long cookie lengths and you have your set to really short, then this can lead to your network under reporting statistics. It is uncommon for your network to over report an advertiser due to cookie lengths because advertisers usually only display your offer tracking pixel when they record a conversion.

Different time zone settings between networks can cause conversion discrepancies. Read more here about how time zone settings cause click discrepancies.

Each network generally handles duplicate conversions in a different manner. If one network records them while another network rejects them, then conversion discrepancies are created. Some networks record duplicate conversions to increase conversion rate but give a lower payout to offset the duplicates. Other networks reject duplicate conversions believing that a duplicate conversion is fraudulent. Some offers and networks accept all conversions and don’t care about duplicate conversions generated from the same user. Generally duplicate conversions are conversions created by the same person more than once per day. The HasOffers platform has several method to enable networks to prevent duplicate conversions from happening. The Transaction ID value set in the Tracking settings in customize application is one way networks prevent duplicate conversions. If you are working with another HasOffers network, differences in the Transaction ID value can cause conversion discrepancies. Networks include HasOffers networks or networks using other software can also enable multiple conversion settings. Enable multiple conversion can allow a user to generate multiple conversions. If your network doesn’t have multiple conversions enabled while the other network you are working with does, conversion discrepancies can be created.
