Sub IDs are for unique user information for conversion tracking. Source IDs are for values to group and filter by. While Sub IDs are only available in the Conversion Report, Source IDs are available in all Reports. However, there is a limit of 500 Source IDs per affiliate while Sub IDs are unlimited. Thus, use Source ID for naming of groups or traffic sources and use Sub ID for unique user information.
