Application Support:Offer Goals
From HasOffers
Offer Goals is a powerful feature that can only be found on HasOffers. It gives networks the ability to place unique tracking pixels on different web pages in the conversion process for a single offer. This allows clients to track multiple conversion points for an offer. It provides the option of paying affiliates for several different actions that all occur after the user clicks the tracking link. Or make a goal private and just track the revenue that is generated when a user completes a specified action.
There are an infinite number of ways this may be used to incentivize affiliates, but it is also extremely helpful recording data for internal uses as it provides more information about user activity in the sales funnel. With goals clients can track: leads and sales for one offer, downloads and installs, free signups and paid subscriptions, and any complex payout structure you can imagine.

Example
You are selling a product online and want to pay affiliates 20% of the sales you make, but you also have upgrades on the product, complementary products, and even a newsletter subscription. You can track all of these actions as separate "Goals" that are all tied to one offer. If a user clicks an affiliate tracking link signs up for the newsletter, you can pay the affiliate $1. Then if the user continues to purchase the product, you can pay the affiliate an additional 20% for the sale. This is just one hypothetical example of how the Goals feature might be utilized.
Setup Offer Goals
Setting up goals for offers is really easy. Once enabled, the PAYOUT panel on the offer view is updated to show controls for managing goals efficiently.
Enable Application Setting for Goals
First, your network must have the Goals preference enabled so that you can add goals to offers. Navigate to the "Customize Application" page under the Company tab and select "Offers" from the Settings panel. In the middle of the page you will find an option named "Offer Goals." Toggle this feature to Enabled to allow the option for creating goals on individual offers in your network. Remember to click Save.
Enable Goals for an Offer
Select an Offer from the "Manage Offers" page under the Offers tab. In the upper right corner of the Payout panel, click "Edit." At the bottom of the following page, toggle Goals to enabled and click Save. This returns you to the Offer page.
Add Goals to an Offer
Once Goals are enabled on an offer, click "Add Goal" on the Payout panel and fill out the form provided for the new goal. Setting up a new goal is much like creating a new offer as it will also auto-generate a new conversion tracking pixel. If you would like to pay affiliates for this goal, select the payout now. If you would like to keep the Goal private, you may make that selection now.
Create an Offer with Goals
When creating a new offer, toggle Goals to "Enabled" following the offer PAYOUT section. This will allow you to add additional goals when the offer is created.
Place Goal Tracking Pixels
Once a goal is created, you will be provided three different tracking pixels depending on how you want the goal to be reported in the system. Select the Conversion tracking pixel if you would like the completion of the goal to show as a conversion or select the Click pixel if you only want it to show as a click. Place this tracking pixel code on the page that represents the completion of a specific goal. Add Sub IDs or pass in SALE amounts just like any conversion pixel.
Test Goals
Be sure to test the conversion process to make sure each goal is recording properly.
Goal Settings
Goal settings are set when a goal is created. They can also be edited and updated by viewing a goal and clicking the "Edit" link on the corresponding panel.
Status
Active means the goal is active. If the goal isn't private and status is active, then affiliates can see the goal. If the goal is old or no longer used, set the goal to Deleted.
Private
Private means that only revenue is tracked. Since the goal is Private, payouts are not tracked. Affiliates do not have access to private goals. If a goal is private, custom affilaite payouts can not be set nor can third-party affiliate pixels / URLs be placed.
Conversion Tracking
iFrame and Image conversion pixels use client-based cookie or cookieless tracking while Server Postback uses server-based cookieless tracking URLs. Learn more about Conversion Tracking.
Revenue
The amount paid by advertisers per conversion. You can set this to $0 if you only want to track payouts for a goal. Otherwise, setting the revenue will allow you to see the difference in income from an offer and the cost to run the offer on your affiliate network.
Payout
The amount paid to affiliates per conversion. Set a goal to private if you do not want to compensate the affilaite for the goal.
Multiple Conversions
Enable multiple conversions to be recorded per user for only one active session. An active session is created each time a user clicks on a tracking link. This will allow a user to create multiple conversions for this goal.
End Point
Enabling this setting will close the active session when this goal is converted. This prevents the user from further converting on the offer unless another active session is started. Set this to enabled on the last goal in the flow process.
Approve Conversions
Enable "Approve Conversions" to require each conversion for this goal to be approved. Conversions will be set to 'pending' by default and will be excluded from billing and stats until approved.
Encrypted Conversion Tracking
Enable "Encrypted Conversion Tracking" to enforce conversion tracking pixels to only record conversions from pixels that are encrypted. Disable this feature to dynamically create conversion tracking pixels and URLs based on the offer ID.
Manage Offer Goals
Manage your Goals at anytime by clicking the "Manage" link on the Payout panel. This will show you each goal associated with an offer including data such as ID, Name, Status, Advertiser, Tracking Pixel Type, Endpoint, Private, Allow Multiples, Payout, and Revenue. From here you can View, Edit, or adjust Payout for each goal by clicking the appropriate link in the right most column.
Private Offer Goals
Keeping Goals private allows you to collect user data on your sales process without paying affiliates for each action or recording each action as a conversion. This is extremely useful for learning about bounce rates and about users that abort the sales process. If you are creating a new goal, toggle the Private setting to Enabled. If you want to privatize an existing Goal, click the appropriate Goal in the Payout panel of the Offer page and click Edit in the upper right of the Details panel. This will allow you to toggle the Private setting to Enabled. When Goals are private, affiliates cannot see them, but you can allow specific affiliates to see goals by approving them below the Generate Tracking Links section on the Offer page.
Custom Goal Payouts for Affiliates
Quickly edit the Payouts for specific affiliates on specific goals by clicking the "Affiliate Payouts" link on the Payout panel (found on the Offer view page). The Offer Affiliate Settings page allows you to add custom payouts by clicking Add in the upper right. Select the affiliate by using the toggle, select the goal, and fill in the form below including the payout. Goals don't have conversion caps. Click the "Add" button and the custom payout has been created. Edit these payouts on the fly at any time by clicking the "Affiliate Payouts" tab again on the Payout panel. Here you can make changes on the fly for all affiliates with custom payouts. Remember to click the "Save" button to keep your changes.
