Application Support:Multiple Currencies

From HasOffers

Enterprise and Dedicated Solution clients can now operate their affiliate network with multiple currencies. While the network does set the default currency, they can enable Multiple Currencies. Multiple currencies enable networks to set cost and revenue for an a per offer basis to use a custom currency. If a network has their default current set to US Dollars, they can set an offer to use the currency of Euros. Cost and revenue in each currency is tracked separately.

Multiple Offer Currencies

To enable multiple currencies, select Customize Application then Application settings. Then enable Multiple Currencies.

Once enabled you can set a specific currency for an offer by viewing and offer and clicking the Edit link on the Payout panel. Then select the custom currency and save changes. The payout and revenue will then be displayed in terms of the custom currency including in the affiliate's interface.

Custom currencies can only be those that the European Central Bank provides exchange rates for. Exchange rates are required so that the HasOffers can make estimated of the activity in the default application currency so that rollup and summary reports will include activity for all currencies. View the list of Custom Currencies.

Reporting

Cost and revenue will be recorded in terms of the custom currency. If there are stats for offers in more than one currency, you can group Reports by currency. Cost, revenue and sale amount will be displayed for each currency.

The main cost, revenue and sale amount columns are calculated by converting the custom currency to the default application currency. The conversion using the exchange rate which is updated once daily from the European Central Bank.

This custom currency conversion to the default currency allows statistics on the manage offer, manage affiliate pages and all reports to have a simplified account of activity in the default currency. Affiliates, advertisers and employees all have access in the interfaces to group reports by currency since affiliates are paid in the currency of the offers they promote and advertisers pay the network in the custom offer currency.

The below shows the offer TuneStar – DE which has a custom offer currency set to 4,75€ CPA and revenue value of 5,00€ RPA while default application currency is set to USD. When viewing reports and select data of Currency, reports will be grouped by currency. As you can see below 4,75€ x 5 conversions equals cost of 23,75€. 5,00€ RPA times 5 conversion equals 25,00€ revenue. These Euro Payout and Euro Revenue numbers are then converted based on the daily exchange rate to get cost of $29.28 USD and revenue of $30.82 USD.

Affiliate and Advertiser Billing

Affiliate and advertiser billing was updated to support multiple currencies. Invoices are then generated by currency. So if an affiliate has stats for a time period in three different currencies, then three invoices will be created - one for each currency. Advertiser invoicing operates the same way.

When generating an affilaite or advertiser invoice, you first have to select the currency and then corresponding statistics will be displayed for the offers that use the specified currency.

Changing Offer Currency

If an offer uses a default offer currency and its is then updated to use a custom currency, only new statistics are recorded in the custom currency for the offer. This update isn't retro-active and only applies to new activity.
