Application Support:Migrating and Importing Data
From HasOffers
HasOffers strives to make moving to our platform seamless. Importing data to migrate from an old tracking system is easy. Simply load affiliates, advertisers and offers into our CSV template and upload the data into your HasOffers network. You can even setup the old tracking system to map URLs over to HasOffers, allowing you to move old tracking links and conversions pixels to track in HasOffers.

Importing Advertisers
To import advertisers, read the Wiki post on Importing Advertisers. Complete the CSV template for advertisers and upload it into your HasOffers network. For complete detail on importing advertisers, please refer to the following:
Setting Up Offers
Once you have offers in your HasOffers network, you will need to instruct advertisers to place HasOffers pixels or implement the HasOffers postback URLs depending on the conversion tracking method for each offer. It is recommended that offers use iFrame Pixels as they will allow for the most robust support for affiliate third-party pixels.
During the migration, advertisers will have two pixels placed - one for the old affiliate tracking system and one for the new HasOffers platform. For more information on Conversion Tracking with HasOffers, please read the following:
Importing Conversions
If you are uploading new conversions or bulk editing conversions to your system, see the following link:
Importing Statistics
Currently we do not allow statistics to be uploaded directly to the HasOffers System. You will not be able to move statistics from your old tracking system to your new HasOffers affiliate network. It is best if you download this old data into CSV files so that you can references it when needed in the future.
If you have affiliates using both your HasOffers affiliate network along with your old tracking system, then you can update conversions to make adjustments to statistics. Use the Adjust Conversions feature by hovering the Affiliates tab and selecting Conversion Adjustments. You can also add adjustments to affiliate invoices.
Mapping Over Old Affiliate URLs
As soon as your HasOffers affiliate network is ready, it is good to start having affiliates update advertising codes and tracking links to the new ones generated by your HasOffers affiliate network. There will be a time period for which you will be recording statistics in two applications: your new HasOffers affiliate network and the tracking software you are replacing.
However, with HasOffers you can map old URLs seamlessly. When you import offers and affiliates, make sure to include ref_id (reference IDs) for offers and affiliates in the the old system. Update the creative code and tracking links to use creative code and tracking links from HasOffers. This way, the old system will direct users to HasOffers, and HasOffers will redirect users to the proper offer URL.
Reference IDs allow the HasOffers ad server to provide offer URLs based on the IDs of affiliates and offers in old tracking systems. If you have an affiliate in your old tracking system with an ID of CD101 and have imported the affiliate into HasOffers with the affiliate reference ID set to CD101, you can generate tracking links by specifying aff_ref in the tracking link. So instead of specifying the HasOffers affiliate ID in tracking links, you can specify the reference ID. The ad server will lookup the affiliate by the reference ID and respond to the request. Below is an example of specifying an affiliate reference ID instead of an affiliate ID. Notice how aff_id has been replaced by aff_ref.

To streamline the process of mapping tracking links and creative code from your old tracking system to HasOffers, you can specify the affiliate reference ID dynamically. Below is an example of inputting the affiliate reference ID dynamically assuming the old system used "%LINK" as the variable for the ID of affiliates. "%LINK" should be replaced with the variable that references the affiliate ID in the old system.

If you have imported offers with reference IDs, the ad server can respond to requests with the offer reference ID (ID of offer in third party system) instead of the HasOffers offer ID. The example link below assumes that CXDF is the offer reference ID and instead of specifying a HasOffers affiliate ID uses an affiliate reference ID (ID of affilaite in third party system).

Affiliates will still be sending traffic to old tracking links and creative code, however, that system will then redirect all requests to HasOffers. HasOffers will then track everything and respond to requests. If a user clicks on a tracking link, the old system will send users to dynamic affiliate links for your HasOffers affiliate network and then send users to the proper offer URL. Then when a user creates a conversion, the advertisement will display two conversion pixels - one on the old tracking system and one on your new HasOffers affilaite network. Old tracking links and creative code will be seamlessly mapped over and statistics recorded in both systems.
Finalizing Migration
After you have successfully moved all traffic from the old tracking system, you may let advertisers remove conversion pixels placed for the old system. However, make sure they don't remove conversion pixels for your HasOffers network in the process.
Once everything is complete, have the company in charge of your old tracking software shut down your old network. It is best to backup all data on your old network prior to closing it down for your own records.
