Today we officially announced full deployment of the HasOffers ad servers to the cloud. For the past four months our engineers have been working on deploying our ad servers with Amazon Web Services. While we are a Seattle-based company, we know that online advertising is international and requires global resources.
“We’re so excited to be the first affiliate tracking software with globally distributed ad servers on the cloud,” said Lucas Brown, CEO. “We know that every second counts for our customers, which is why we believe this huge investment is more than worth it.”
What does it mean?
We’ve deployed ad servers in all four of Amazon’s cloud facilities. These deployments provide truly global coverage. Our ad servers respond to requests; displaying creatives, recording impressions, redirecting tracking links, recording clicks, handling conversions, etc.
We’ve combined this global deployment of the ad servers on the cloud with globally load-balanced DNS. This detects the location of the user making the request to the ad server and directs the user to the ad server in the facility that can respond the quickest. A user clicking on a tracking link in Germany will be handled by an ad server in the Ireland facility or a user viewing a creative in New York will be handled by an ad server in the Virginia facility.
Integrated monitoring scripts analyze each facilities’ performance in real-time and in the event a facility is under-performing or unavailable, the DNS automatically redirects all traffic to a different facility. These monitoring scripts are deployed globally with each DNS deployment to ensure that they are “fault tolerant” as well.

Faster Requests
Global deployments of the ad servers with globally load-balanced DNS, increases performance by handling a users request with ad servers that are located thousands of miles closer to them. By dramatically reducing this latency, our ad servers are also able to handle requests even faster than before.
100% Up-Time
You think we’re kidding, but our migration to the cloud makes 100% up-time virtually a reality, a claim that has never before been possible for any affiliate tracking solution. The same globally distributed ad servers that increase the time of each request also prevent the possibility of down time through globally load-balanced DNS. This removes the possibility of lost conversions due to tracking technology issues. Stay tuned for an updated SLA.
Custom SSL on the Cloud
Now that we’ve moved to the cloud, we are able to more effectively provide custom SSL certificates for tracking domains. Regardless of pricing edition, using network’s own SSL certificate for tracking domain is $200 per month and includes all locations on the cloud deployment.
By default your tracking domain will operate on all cloud facilities (without custom SSL). This is due to the fact that SSL traffic is redirected to the client’s subdomain on go2cloud.org and HasOffers owns the SSL certificate setup on this domain. It is recommended that clients use custom SSL certificates when offers include HTTPS pixels. With a custom SSL, your network’s custom tracking domain is not effected by the quality score of our shared tracking domain.
